The great thing about the Hallman Evolution Boost Controller kit is that you can adjust your boost from inside the car. This is really great for setting your initial boost for the very first time. Now you can set your boost within a minute or two and never stop the car. No more looking for a place to pull over and having to get out and pop the hood to make adjustments.
Installing this kit is not hard, but it does take more time than installing your standard under the hood boost controller.

That alone doesn’t seem all that special, but the thing that makes the holsets so desireable is how fast they spool up on a small displacement motor.

This is the reason I decided to do this write up. What does a manual boost controller do? It allows you to raise the boost. Doing this can give you a lot more power by increasing the boost but could also cause catastrophic failures if you raise the boost too much and do not have the mods to support it. If you have little too no mods when installing a MBC, you should only raise the boost a couple pounds from where you run with the stock boost control solenoid. If your car is basically stock, you should be running around psi.

And the best thing about it is the fact that most stuff need to make it, you already have in your possession. Most people will either use a manual switch or automatically through the DSMLink nitrous controls. I like the ability to run it automatically using the DSMLink controls, but I still have a manual switch to shut off the second stage without having to use the computer. DSMLink nitrous controls allow you to set the second stage of boost to activate above a certain RPM, above a specific throttle position and above a certain speed.
In addition, the nitrous controls have a built in knock safety feature. You can set the second stage of boost to shut off above a certain knock threshold and save your engine from damage. Having the ability to set the activation point above a certain RPM can also be used to help eliminate compressor surge or with a WWD keeping traction during launches.
